Ministry News, Orphanage Needs and Updates

# Wednesday, January 13, 2010

As most of you are aware, there was a devistating earthquake in Haiti yesterday, January 12th.  Haiti Lifeline Ministries has 21 work team members at the Centre for Children's International Lifeline Orphanage.  We recieved a "stray" text message last night indicating that they were all okay, however, one of the walls of the orphanage had collapsed.

Obviously when you have a 9' wall with razor wire, it is there for a reason.  We are very concerned for the safety and security of our team as well as the children.

We have been in contact with the state department, and Sen. Brownback's office.  They have taken all of our information, and have indicated that there will be a military presence in Haiti to help coordinate the extraction of our people to safety.

Please keep everyone in Haiti in your prayers. We will try to update the information as we get it.

Another Denton Shipment has been successfully completed and we look forward to continuing God's work at Lifeline and beyond its walls in 2009. Here are some issues that are on the fore front of the needs list for this year.

God is always faithful. He has answered our prayer's with a YES and NOW. The 2008 Haiti Lifeline shipment is being loaded on four 18 wheelers today (Friday. December 12) and will be delivered to McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas on Monday, December the 15th to begin its journey to Haiti. It is a large shipment (36 tons of food, clothing, and supplies). These shipments are sent via the the US government's Denton Program which is a space available program on military cargo aircraft which is administered by the USAID (United States Aid for International Development).

Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers as our God continues to orchestrate the movement of this shipment.

Nicole's husband, Pastor Daniel, has shared the extreme needs of the Haitian farmers in the southern area of Haiti (pine forest area) that have lost all there crops. This is a special project need for seed and fertilizer to begin the crop production process again. Anyone that would like to be a part of this special project may send contributions to:

Haiti Lifeline Ministries held a benefit concert Sunday evening the 21st of September southeast of Buhler, Kansas. There were approximately 200 people in attendance.

Two musical groups performed, Jake Schmidt and the Journeymen from Buhler and the Brothers and the Sisters from Goessel, Kansas.

The benefit raised approximately $2500 for the Lifeline Orphanage outreach in Haiti.

Pictures of the benefit concert can be found in the photo galleries.

I (John Ratzlaff) talked with Nicole again this morning (Tuesday, September 9). She says that the children and the orphanage came through the hurricane with no injuries or damage to property. It is good that all of  the construction over the past 10 years has been with concrete and block. There have been some mud and thatch dwelling in the community (Croix des Bouquet) that have been destroyed due to the heavy rains and flooding. There are also many people from the mountain areas that are coming down for help having only escaped with there lives. The needs are enormous in a country that had so little before the hurricanes struck the island.

All monetary donations for relief efforts should be sent to:

Haiti Lifeline Ministries Inc. is a 501 C/3 organization and has no administrative overhead. 100 % of every dollar given goes directly to meet the needs of the people of Haiti. The money is used for the purchase of food, clothing, and health care. Nicole Dieudonne (Lifeline Orphanage Administrator) and her husband Daniel oversee the distribution to the needy families of Haiti.
