Haiti Location
Haiti is not really very far from the United States. It is only a 1 hour & 45 minute flight out
of Miami, Florida. Haiti is considered the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.
It occupies the western third of the island of Hispaniola in the West Indies. Its
neighbor to the east on the same island is the Dominican Republic. Haiti has a landmass,
which is about 1/8 the size of Kansas, which approximately 8 million people call
home.

to the northeast of Haiti's capital City Port-au-Prince
